This genius driver drove in the bike lane for nearly an entire block, blocking bikers the whole way.

This meter maid (ahem, parking enforcement agent) had pulled into the bike lane to write up a ticket.

This guy seems to have drifted into the bike lane purely out of spite since it's hard to see what he thinks he's accomplishing.

I'm not sure it was such a great idea to make this stretch of the R Street bike lane run between two car lanes, but that's where they put the bike lane. No excuse for the guy to be driving here either since both the forward traffic lane and the right turn lane adjacent to him were vacant.

So, more trouble with delivery trucks using the thoroughfare to unload. Franly, this is annoying because there is an alley that this truck could unload to just a few steps from the store AND the store encourages its patrons to hand-truck purchases home.

I felt like this was a worthy infraction mainly because the driver had made poor parking job. As you can see, he is parked against the curb, but his port-tail sticks into the bike lane, requiring the bicyclist to leave the bike lane.

Two cube trucks and one rig were blocking the bike lane so they could do some unloading/loading, however no one was actively working.

My understanding of DC law is that trucks CAN use the public thouroughfare to unload goods as long as they aren't blocking traffic and there isn't available loading docks, but they are required to set up warning cones.

To be honest, I didn't notice any of those things when I snapped the picture. I was simply documenting the a**hole unmarked car, and all the rest just happened.

Even if they did enforce the law against bike lane violations, I guess this guy could get away with it.

I had to stop, since there was traffic pulling around this vehicle. The driver was getting back in her car, and she said "Sorry." As she turned around, I snapped a photo.

Approximately 12:30am, Saturday, June 7, 2008. It's sad because this stretch of road (which I ride daily) has a bike lane for only about 200 meters.

When I took this picture, the guy came out of the car and rushed me, saying "I'm going to smash you in the face." I started biking away and he smashed me in the back with his fist. I am pressing assault charges.

And there was a legal spot right next to him too.

No flashers or blinker or any sort of warning, just a car in the bike lane. The flash reflected hard off of the plate and also made the lights appear on, but trust me, they weren't. Car #354.
