E Street NW is bad in the morning -- lots of people parking in the bike lane -- but, this was bad on many levels. A cop pulled up and parked on the left (oncoming) from the first photo. He looked over the situation, he had even watched me take pictures, and then he got out of his police car and walked up 12th, not doing a thing.

This is pretty much a daily occurrence

Cop was on the sidewalk, talking to other BIKE COPS! Lights were on but there was obviously no emergency (and room to park immediately up ahead)

Thank you DC Department of Transportation for the brand new bike lanes on Pennsylvania Avenue, but do you have to then park a city vehicle gratuitously blocking this new lane, and right in front of the Wilson Building (city hall), no less?! Oh, the irony.

Another waste of life taxi driver ignoring the bike lane laws... I can't believe the lack of enforcement along this stretch of road. The signs (both posted AND painted) clearly say this lane is for buses and bikes ONLY - The police do absolutely nothing. The ticket revenue alone would more than pay for the additional officers, so I'm not sure why they don't cash in on this.

Again, another driver doing whatever the hell they want with no consequences. That's a bike lane, not an HOV lane. Thanks, MPD.

These pictures were all taken within a 10-minute time frame... I can't imagine the number of violators in a 24-hour period.

Couldn't get a legible plate number - but notice the police officer casually doing NOTHING about the bike lane violation. I guess it's not "his jurisdiction".

Another mental giant parked on VT Ave (southbound)... Unfortunately the plate was washed out.

The driver *just* started to pull away as I took the picture... He was definitely blocking the bicycle lane with his hazards on before that.

This guy was just hanging out in the bike lane at the northern end of Thomas Circle NW. Notice the cyclist who had to divert into the car lanes since this waste of life wouldn't get out of the way.

Morning rush (8:40 AM), and DPW decided it would be a good time to do the street sweeping on the southbound counterflow bike lane on 15th. After being pushed into oncoming traffic by two sweepers and a DPW vehicle (background), I made it less than a block before being forced back into the northbound travel lane by this guy. Not adding the plate #, since there's a good chance it wasn't entirely his fault - he was talking with an MPD officer (parked across the street) who apparently didn't think it was necessary to tell the guy to move out of the bike lane.

I tried to get a better picture, but you can clearly see the bike lane from the reflection on the rear of the SUV. This was on Vermont Avenue NW between N Street and Logan Circle.

This nice gentleman drove with his car blocking half the bike lane for at least seven blocks before I turned up 15th.

Not parking, not blinking, not moving. Just chilling. In the bike lane.

Every day this shuttle bus picks people up at the Metro on Gst &12th (Metro Center). If they'd just pull around to 12th they could idle in one of the 4 lanes with the rest of the limos and cabs and buses. Some days there's 2 of them stacked up there blocking traffic.

Instead they choose to idle on the 2-way street in the bike lane. Smart!

Some people block bike lanes while just running into a store for a minute. Some while they're trying to turn or get around traffic.

I'm not sure if this is legal or not but it steamed me jsut as bad as a fat lady idling in the bike lane on E-st.

It's an "elevator emergency". Seriously???
